Recently, Dr Beh Swan Gin, Chairman of Singapore economic Development Board, Chairman of the Board of Singapore Economic Development Board Investment Co., Ltd., and Mr. Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican, Chairman of Singapore Jurong shipyard, together pressed "operation start button ".
Steel structure workshop of Singapore Jurong shipyard Phase 2 undertaken by Hebei Hangxiao Steel Structure Co., Ltd. fully put into production use. The project has successfully passed TOP acceptance from Building and Construction Authority on July 13, 2015.
Steel structure workshop of Singapore Jurong shipyard Phase 2 is heavy steel structure workshop which is the largest monomer workshop in Singapore so far, located in Tuas South14 Boulevard, Singapore.
The project is a complex structure, divided into five parts, while part by part is pipe truss structure, with 23 pipe trusses. Among them, the longest truss is 35 meters, 4.9 meters high, 130 tons weighty. After the installation, the elevation of the truss is up to 36 meters.
The truss construction is the key and difficult point of the project construction. After several studies, at the end, the project Department, design Department and overseas machinery units determined the truss splicing program, including truss hanging point form and crane layout, and carried out a simulation analysis, finally determined the lifting scheme. Using the largest crane 500t, after more than 50 work shifts, ensured truss hoisting smoothly.
The project lasted for totally more than 9 months from August 18, 2014 to May 31, 2015 when installing the last steel beam completed. The project received favorable comments and affirmation from main contractor and owner.
